Welcome to SAUGA

On behalf of SAUGA (South African Urogynaecological Association) I extend a warm welcome to you as you are visiting our website. Urogynaecology is a discipline within medicine dealing with pelvic floor disorders in females. These disorders include problems of the bladder (mostly leakage) and bowel, as well as prolapse (descent) of the pelvic organs. The main role players in Urogynaecology are Gynaecologists, Urologists, Colo-rectal Surgeons and Physiotherapists. SAUGA is associated with the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) and the South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (SASOG).

In this website you will find a wealth of information about SAUGA and Urogynaecology, including our history and constitution. Both health care professionals and members of the public are addressed. Urogynaecological problems are extremely common amongst women and SAUGA would like to see that practitioners in South Africa provide a quality of service to our patients second to none.
